Beading is my voice-unyielding\, radiant\, and alive-proclaiming that Indigenous presence will never be erased.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About the Artist:\n \nKimberly-Ann\, 33\, is an enrolled member of the Missisquoi band of Abenaki of northern Vermont and is an experienced bead worker. Born and raised in southern New Hampshire\, Kimberly-Ann has been involved in her culture all her life. She began beading at the age of 12 when she was taught by a family member and continues to learn and incorporate new techniques in her work today. She has made pieces for many friends\, family members\, and customers; she has also made pieces featured in Peacock’s series Rutherford Falls. Lace\, jewelry\, cut glass\, textiles with some transparency\, and small toys all work well.\nThis workshop is open to all ages\, but please note that\, while sunprinting fabric is generally safe to touch\, little ones who might put hands in mouths would need to be closely monitored.\nTo help us purchase the correct amount of supplies\, please use the “Participant” ticket if you’d like to create a sunprint\, and the “Guardian” ticket if you’re bringing a child but don’t want to make your own print. Can I use it in a recipe?\n Per the conditions of our liquor license with the city\, we do not serve alcohol at these events\, and guests cannot bring alcohol to drink. However\, dishes with cooked alcohol are perfectly fine to bring.\n \n \n \n \n \n How are food allergies handled?\n We do ask people to provide us with a list of ingredients in their dishes\, but this is a potluck-style dinner with dishes all laid out together on a long table and served family-style. Dave joined GMRI in 2020 to launch and lead a new Climate Center focused on delivering climate services to coastal and marine stakeholders. He was appointed as a climate advisor to the Biden-Harris Presidential Transition Team. Prior to joining GMRI\, Dave served in a number of climate science policy positions in the federal government\, including as Director of the Northeast & Southeast Climate Adaptation Science Centers at the U.S. Geological Survey\, Director of the Fourth National Climate Assessment with the White House Office of Science & Technology Policy\, and as Chief Climate Scientist at the State Department where he led U.S. negotiations on science and technology for the Paris Agreement.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Johanna Lyons\nJohanna Lyons is the State Park Planner and Land Use Administrator for the NH Division of Parks and Recreation. Starting her state park career as a field manager at Hampton Beach State Park she has developed her career within the Division and has been the planner since 2003. A majority of the State Park facilities are greater than 50 years old and much of the park infrastructure is eligible for the National Register. In addition\, the parks contain cultural resources\, special habitats and natural features. Balancing public use and stewardship of the natural and cultural resources is a daily negotiation.
