Most people know about Paul Revere’s most famous ride to Lexington and Concord in April of 1775, but did you know that he set forth from Boston four months earlier to Portsmouth? He came with a warning about rising tensions between British regulars and colonists, specifically that the military may try to seize provincial powder stores at Fort William and Mary.
